Posting four RWJF Pioneer topics for discussion on the Sermo physicians-only online network

This study will increase the Foundation's Pioneer Portfolio followers' understanding of physicians' opinions about: (1) shared use/analysis of patient-collected data and other data collected and/or shared using mobile technology; and (2) key Pioneer programs. Secondary purposes of this study will be to guide Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF) investments in the field of mobile health (mHealth) and to supplement the portfolio's external assessment. Through this program contract, staff from Sermo.com will post materials (including videos and documents) that describe three Foundation Pioneer team projects: Project HealthDesign, Project ECHO and OpenNotes. RWJF will ask physicians a series of questions to ascertain whether they think that these innovations have the potential to transform care delivery. Additionally, the project will test the hypothesis that physicians feel comfortable making decisions based on their own experience and the published literature, but not on aggregated, analyzed patient-collected data. The main deliverable will be the quantitative and qualitative data collected from physicians' answers. RWJF will make results of the study available on the RWJF website in the form of slides and brief summaries.
