New Connections: Increasing Diversity of Foundation Programming strives to identify new investigators and consultants from historically underrepresented communities and connect them to the Foundation in order to increase the diversity of perspectives informing the Foundation's program planning and design. New Connections funds junior investigators to perform data analyses that address Foundation research priorities and mid-career consultants to conduct projects that focus on research and/or evaluation. New Connections has also established a network of over 1,000 diverse scholars and researchers who continue to benefit from the program's career development, networking, and mentoring efforts. This grant provides technical assistance and direction support of ongoing program activities including: (1) grant making and management; (2) planning and implementing training and mentoring events for New Connections' grantees, alumni and network members; (3) communication strategies with grantees, alumni and network members; (4) establishment and maintenance of an evidence-based system for ongoing program effectiveness; and (5) collaborative efforts with program partners and national organizations of interest to New Connections' grantees, alumni and network members.
