Supporting a project manager and consulting services to facilitate Affordable Care Act implementation in Alabama

This grant provides support for resources necessary to implement the Beneficiary Services Modernization Program (BSMP) within the Alabama Medicaid Agency. The agency will use the funds to support consulting and project management activities, including daily support for the deputy commissioner of beneficiary services, enterprise project management, leadership development consulting, work process improvement, and development of customer service competency and skills. Alabama Medicaid has been working with the Center for Government and Public Affairs of Auburn University Montgomery (AUM), and it will continue to be retained by the Medicaid agency to provide assistance to implement BSMP and to serve as Medicaid's project manager for the State Health Reform Assistance Network (State Network). In this role, AUM will coordinate with State Network staff to obtain technical assistance to help Medicaid successfully implement BSMP.
