Supporting PolicyLink's Equity Summit 2011
This grant provides support to the Healthy Communities track at PolicyLink's Equity Summit 2011 on November 8-11 in Detroit. The goal of the track is to weave the issue of health throughout all sessions, highlighting the connection between the issue of health and the issues of education, transportation, housing, economic development, and the environment. Topics addressed within the track will focus on the connection between a neighborhood's environment--including the presence of parks, maintenance of the local playground, access to healthy foods, availability of living-wage jobs, transportation, quality schools, and affordable housing--and the health of its residents. Deliverables will include blog postings and tweets from the event by participants and PolicyLink staff.
