Strengthening the work of the Federal Policy Team in advancing RWJF's childhood obesity goals

This contract will transfer the federal-level advocacy activities of the Foundation's Center to Prevent Childhood Obesity from the Arkansas Center for Health Improvement to the Foundation's Childhood Obesity team. Tracy Fox, president of Food, Nutrition & Policy Consultants, will lead the Federal Policy Team and strengthen RWJF's advocacy efforts by: (1) producing an external weekly policy update; (2) assisting with the coordination of federal activities of major program offices; and (3) participating in the weekly meeting of the Foundation's Childhood Obesity team to provide insights into how federal considerations may impact activities of RWJF's team and grantees. Deliverables will include the weekly update; in-person meetings twice a month with the Childhood Obesity team; updates on federal policy as various acts are implemented or considered; and, when requested, written analyses of the federal impact of the team's various advocacy strategies to advance particular policy targets.
