The Foundation's program, ChildObesity 180: Reverse the Trend, was designed to coordinate and catalyze action among high-profile leaders and organizations to reverse the epidemic of childhood obesity. This grant supports ChildObesity180 (CO180) in catalyzing actions and promoting solutions to execute an integrated national strategy to reverse childhood obesity within a generation. Seventeen high-profile leaders representing the public, private and nonprofit sectors serve as charter members of this group. Peter R. Dolan, a former Fortune 500 CEO, is CO180 chairman. CO180 is working to identify the most promising strategies to foster high-level public-private collaboration, attract new resources and take promising interventions to scale. Deliverables will include expanding membership; convening members; designing and executing six or more strategic initiatives; securing at least $18 million for core infrastructure and interventions; and seeking substantial in-kind support. No Foundation funds will be used for lobbying, and CO180 will work with the Foundation's Childhood Obesity communications team on all external communications related to this project.
