Assessing the feasibility of establishing a public health institute in New Jersey

This program contract supports TSI Consulting Partners to conduct a series of stakeholder interviews and focus groups to generate recommendations on if and how collaborative efforts to explore and establish a public health institute in New Jersey should proceed. Deliverables will include interviews and focus groups with approximately 50 stakeholders, a synthesis of the findings, and recommendations on the need and possible roles for an institute in New Jersey that could help strengthen the state's public health system. TSI will help reconvene the broad group of partners who initiated this work and key stakeholders to review the recommendations and make decisions on whether or not to proceed with collaborative efforts to establish an institute. TSI will work closely on all aspects of the project with the Foundation and partners in its "exploratory workgroup," including representatives from the New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Services, New Jersey Public Health Associations' Collaborative Effort, and the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey--School of Public Health. If a consensus forms to move ahead with further exploration and development of an institute in the State, the Foundation will invite TSI to submit a contract proposal for next-phase strategic planning.
