Strengthening the role of the Dartmouth Atlas of Health Care in improving health care under health reform, 2011-2014

This funding will continue support for the Dartmouth Atlas Project (DAP) in documenting and reporting local and regional variations in the performance of the U.S. health care system. Further, it will continue support for DAP in providing interpretation of this variation for policy-makers, health care leaders and the research community to further the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation's goal of improved quality in health care. This funding will also support a significant reorganization of the project and work to identify expanded funding sources. Deliverables will include two to three new DAP reports per year, establishment of the Atlas Advisory Council, clinical measures of chronic illness for the Aligning Forces for Quality evaluation, and updated Atlas regions.
