This project will assess the spillover effects of community uninsurance on the quality of care and health outcomes among insured persons. Specifically, the researchers will assess the effects community uninsurance may have on insured persons' awareness that they have hypertension or diabetes, whether their hypertension or diabetes is treated, and control of their condition. The researchers hypothesize that a high community uninsurance rate may have adverse spillover effects on the awareness, treatment, and control of hypertension and diabetes. Deliverables for the project will include articles for publication in professional and scientific journals, policy briefs, presentations and briefings, and associated news releases.
