The Foundation's Investigator Awards in Health Policy Research Program was designed to produce major works from senior and new investigators that would add to the health policy field's knowledge base. This grant provides continued technical assistance and direction to support researchers whose crosscutting and innovative ideas promise to contribute meaningfully to improving health and health policy. Every two years, the Program provides up to 60-month grants of up to $335,000 each to approximately 8 highly qualified individuals, from a range of disciplines, whose proposed research about health and healthcare is innovative and has national policy relevance. National program activities will include marketing the program to attract highly qualified, diverse applicants with new ideas who can produce innovative and policy-relevant work that can inform the development of better health policy in the United States, administering the application and selection process, helping to set up and monitor investigator grants and ensure that the investigators meet RWJF's reporting requirements, promoting interdisciplinary exchange and collaboration through the significant networking opportunities provided through convening and other efforts, administering the program's group research initiative, helping the investigators to disseminate their research findings with the assistance of communications firms working closely with the National Advisory Committee, and carrying out all tasks related to the administration and financial management of the national program office.
