Identifying the critical elements of successful health impact assessments

This grant supports an evaluation that will identify and analyze the elements that are critical for successful conduct and application of Health Impact Assessment (HIA). To accomplish this task, Group Health Cooperative will use a mixed-method, comparative case study design, which will include interviews, site visits, surveys, document review and literature reviews. An advisory group comprised of staff from RWJF and Pew Charitable Trusts' Health Impact Project will provide guidance to the evaluation. In addition to producing a final report, the grantee will disseminate the findings via issue briefs, fact sheets, presentations, and journal articles.
