The Foundation's Active Living Research program was designed to support investigator-initiated research to identify and assess structural, environmental, and policy changes with the potential to increase population levels of physical activity.The purpose of this project is to conduct a retrospective, in-depth descriptive study of the Active Living Research Program from 2007 to 2010 to inform the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and program leadership about progress in contributing to the field of childhood obesity prevention research and action, specifically contributions to RWJF efforts in this area, and to make recommendations for a possible 2012 renewal of the program. The evaluation will focus on 11 questions and employ qualitative and quantitative methods. The main qualitative method will be in-person or telephone interviews. Other methods include document review. A near-final draft report will be delivered by July 15, 2011.
