This grant supports the second phase of a project by using procedures developed in Phase 1 to conduct an economic evaluation of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF) program Covering Kids & Families (CKF). The Foundation has a long history of supporting rigorous, unbiased evaluations of its programs, but it generally has not assessed their long-term economic impact. Under the first phase of this project, RWJF's grantee at Resources for the Future developed methods and a new analytic approach to measure the economic returns on RWJF's programming. The second phase of the project will support a full analysis that uses those methods and applies them to CKF. The project will generate two reports, looking at the economic impact of expanded health insurance coverage for kids, as well as the attributable impact of the Foundation's involvement in this arena.
