This project will build on the work of the Network for Multicultural Research on Health and Healthcare, a mentorship program that supports career development of junior investigators, while providing them the means to build new skills and leadership roles in the field of research into health care policy. Specifically, the network has received additional support to monitor and evaluate the progress of previously funded scholars in completing research papers on health care disparities. At the same time, the scholars will continue to build skills that will help them advance as leaders in the professional field. This project will also disseminate information through the network's Web site, which UCLA will maintain with research news, highlights, databanks and more. Overall, this supplementary funding will provide a bridge for supporting the network's senior investigators' continued work to support a new generation of skillful, trained junior investigators in health policy research.
