This grant supports the United Way of Greater Union County Family Success Center Network (Network) emergency family assistance program. The project will be managed by United Way of Greater Union County, and provides emergency cash assistance to individuals and families for basic and emergency needs when all other cash and benefit program options have been exhausted. The United Way of Greater Union County has established parameters for how the five community-based Network members can use the emergency cash assistance, and how the funds will be dispensed and accounted for. The entire Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF) grant will be used for direct emergency assistance to families. Based on the United Way of Greater Union County's experience, the emergency cash assistance will be needed for a wide variety of purposes, including: emergency rental assistance, security deposits; utility assistance; medication/ medical care needs; and household items (e.g. bedding, cleaning supplies). The United Way of Greater Union County and the Family Success Centers will provide in-kind staff and administrative support for the project.
