Strengthening the role of the Dartmouth Atlas of Health Care in improving health care under health reform

This funding will continue support for the Dartmouth Atlas Project in documenting and reporting local and regional variations in the performance of the U.S. health care system and providing interpretation of this variation for policy makers, health care leaders and the research community, to further the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation's goal of improved quality in health care. Deliverables will include two to three new Dartmouth Atlas Project reports, clinical measures of chronic illness for the Aligning Forces for Quality evaluation, recommendations for action from a strategic-planning process, and updated Atlas regions.
