This grant supports the publication of conference proceedings of the 2011 Academic Emergency Medicine Consensus Conference: Interventions to Assure Quality in the Crowded Emergency Department. Through the publication, the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation will help spread knowledge about quality-of-care safeguards for emergency departments around the nation. Using a consensus-building approach and the Institute of Medicine's quality framework, conference facilitators and participants will develop a research agenda focused on identifying interventions that ensure the quality of emergency care. The deliverable for this project will be the publication of the research agenda, methodological papers and original research related to quality interventions tested in emergency departments. The articles will appear in the dedicated December 2011 issue of the journal Academic Emergency Medicine.
