The Foundation's initiative, Finding Answers: Disparities Research for Change, was designed to use research and evaluation to test hypothetical solutions for reducing racial and ethnic disparities in health care settings and actual disparity reduction outcomes in ongoing programs.An internet-based depression prevention intervention specifically tailored for urban African American and Hispanic youth will be evaluated in a randomized clinical trial. Depressive symptoms, risks, and functional status will be measured along with change in knowledge, attitudes and motivation. An economic analysis determining costs and benefits and to estimate net social benefit will be provided.
