Guiding development of a research agenda for public health systems and services research

This project will assist with the development and implementation of a Public Health Systems and Services Research (PHSSR) Agenda meeting co-sponsored by RWJF and the CDC to be held in the fall of 2010. This meeting will bring together up to 50 experts and practitioners to help develop and grow the PHSSR field and will result in a revised PHSSR research agenda. Altarum has expertise in strategic meeting planning and implementation and will produce the following deliverables to accomplish these objectives: (1) a synthesis of the literature; (2) a synthesis and review of RWJF's portfolio of work related to PHSSR; (3) a Web-based survey of researchers and practitioners involved in PHSSR; (4) interviews with key stakeholders in the PHSSR field; (5) development of a white paper and other background documents to inform the research agenda; (6) organization and oversight planning for the PHSSR research agenda meeting; (7) a meeting summary and strategic directives document, including a comprehensive final report; and (8) overall project management and coordination among CDC, RWJF and its existing PHSSR grantees.
