The Foundation's program, State Health Access Reform Evaluation (SHARE), was designed to support research and evaluation of state health reform initiatives and develop an evidence base for future state and federal reform initiatives. This research project will evaluate the early stage impact of the new coverage law for young adults, a key element of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA), which allows young adults to be included as dependents on their parents' coverage up to age 26. The PPACA provision builds on several state experiments with this policy option. The project builds on the grantee's previous study, which evaluated the state experience with young-adult coverage. The researchers will produce several issue briefs and peer-reviewed articles on a rolling basis throughout the life of the grant.
