This will be the fifth award to support development of the infrastructure and program components of the Public Health Accreditation Board (PHAB). PHAB was established by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to launch and administer a national accreditation program for local, state, territorial and tribal public health departments. Deliverables will include: (1) finalizing the program components for launch in early fall 2011; (2) completing the implementation of the beta test and its formal evaluation; (3) strengthening and formalizing partnerships with state-based programs; (4) completing the think-tank processes and reports; (5) completing the development of a fee structure and business plan; (6) developing partnerships to implement proposed incentives; (7) engaging policy-maker support for national accreditation; and (7) strengthening the organizational capacity of PHAB.
