The Foundation's program, Healthy Eating Research: Building Evidence to Prevent Childhood Obesity, was designed to support investigator-initiated research to identify and assess environmental and policy influences with the greatest potential to improve healthy eating and weight patterns among the nation's children.This grant supports continued technical assistance and direction for the Foundation's Healthy Eating Research (HER) program. For Year 6, HER will carry out a range of activities, including: releasing and managing review processes for the 2010 calls for proposals; overseeing the production and dissemination of targeted commissioned papers, policy analyses, research briefs and syntheses; continuing efforts to connect with policy-makers, advocates and other end-users to define HER research priorities; maintaining and building on collaborative partnerships with other RWJF programs and other funders; and managing ongoing field-building activities, such as the HER 5th Annual Grantee Meeting, grantee working group coordination and technical assistance and ongoing program evaluation activities.
