Data collection and analysis of the foundation field, 2010-2013
This three-year renewal grant will provide general operating support to continue and expand activities of the Foundation Center, which--even during a time of economic crisis and heightened calls for transparency and accountability throughout the foundation world--maintains its position as a leading provider of research, publications and training on philanthropy and grant-seeking. Activities supported by this grant will include: (1) collecting, organizing and disseminating information on the philanthropic sector; (2) analyzing trends and issues shaping philanthropy; (3) training on effective giving and grant-seeking practices; (4) providing data tools and other resources to maximize understanding of philanthropy; and (5) promoting robust communications of its resources and issues shaping the sector, including using social-media approaches to a greater extent.
