This project will examine the factors over the past 20 years that have been the most important drivers of vulnerability in America, in an effort to forecast trends that will affect vulnerability for the next 20 years. This forecast will be a critical tool in planning the strategy of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation over the next several years, but also for policy-makers and other funders. The project will provide scenario workshops that engage both the Foundation's Vulnerable Populations (VP) team members and grantees. The team will post project results on the RWJF Web site (www.rwjf.org) and disseminate them through policy-maker outreach and conference sessions to others who work with the most vulnerable in society. A key project goal will be to determine the public and private resources available to spread VP-supported programs more widely.
