Strengthening the consumer voice in Massachusetts payment reform activities

This grant supports Health Care for All's effort to educate and organize consumers to be effective, knowledgeable participants in policy initiatives under way in Massachusetts to reform the system of health care payments. By leveraging its extensive experience in helping consumers to be a positive force in the policy arena, Health Care for All will improve the quality of the resulting payment reform and serve as a national model for successful consumer involvement in the reform effort. Deliverables include: (1) consumer-accessible outreach and educational materials focusing on payment reform, including an in-depth consumer guide on various aspects of the effort; (2) recommendations on payment reform from the consumer perspective; and (3) documentation aimed at a national audience of the Massachusetts consumers' experience in payment reform.
