The Salvation Army's on-the-ground infrastructure and knowledge of Haiti have helped it to be efficient in getting earthquake relief activities to where they're most needed. They have successfully gotten a 14-person American medical team of eight doctors and six nurses into Haiti which is administering care along with doctors and emergency management personnel from the U.K and Canada. This grant will make it possible for the Salvation Army to expand its on-the-ground operations and to get more supplies and staff to where help is needed most.
