This grant supports the National Quality Forum (NQF) in completing the following four tasks related to its strategic goals: (1) developing and executing action plans to achieve the priorities established through its National Priorities Partnership; (2) laying the groundwork to fill measurement gaps related to NQF's priority of improving population health; (3) building a Web-based toolkit of NQF-endorsed measures and practices for use at the community level, and laying the groundwork for a standardized community-based dashboard for public reporting that will allow for meaningful comparisons across communities; and (4) beginning work to address measurement issues in payment reform and to identify performance measures for use in payment systems. NQF chose the activities under this grant project because they are high priority, foundational, and least likely to be affected by future changes in programs and funding.
