The Foundation's Active Living Research program was designed to support investigator-initiated research to identify and assess structural, environmental, and policy changes with the potential to increase population levels of physical activity.This grant will provide continued funding for technical assistance and direction for the Active Living Research program and its work to stimulate and support research identifying environmental factors and policies with the potential to increase everyday physical activity among children and families in order to reverse the rise in childhood obesity. The program places a special emphasis on research addressing ways to increase youth physical activity levels in the low-income and racial/ethnic communities at highest risk.
