The Foundation's initiative, Finding Answers: Disparities Research for Change, was designed to use research and evaluation to test hypothetical solutions for reducing racial and ethnic disparities in health care settings and actual disparity reduction outcomes in ongoing programs. This grants supports technical assistance and direction for the Finding Answers program. During this cycle of funding, the three main components of work will be: (1) identifying and packaging model solutions to disparities; (2) learning what kinds of interventions can be disseminated on a larger scale as well as how to implement them on this larger scale; and (3) disseminating and translating these solutions regionally and nationally, most intensively in the Aligning Forces for Quality communities. The National Program Office (NPO) will continue to provide grantee monitoring and technical assistant in collaboration with the National Opinion Research Center. The NPO will also issue one more call for proposals, this time seeking evaluation of innovative disparity solutions implemented across three or more sites.
