Technical assistance and direction for RWJF's Salud America! program
The Foundation's program, Salud America! The RWJF Research Network to Prevent Obesity Among Latino Children, was designed to stimulate and support investigator-initiated research and build a field of researchers focused on preventing obesity among Latino children.This grant supports continued activities of the Salud America! national program. The National Program Office (NPO) will convene its Executive Workgroup (at least once in person) to assist them with the following tasks: (1) develop a background document to identify and prioritize key Latino Childhood Obesity Research issues; (2) continue recruiting members for the national network of stakeholders in Latino Childhood Obesity research; (3) plan and host an annual scientific summit; and (4) oversee pilot studies of junior and experienced scientists. The NPO will work with the Foundation's Childhood Obesity communications team as it develops communications material.
