This project will support a survey of Massachusetts physicians to gauge their support of the state's landmark health care reform legislation of 2006. The survey will provide insights into the perceived impact of the reforms on physicians' practices and patient care, with special attention to how safety net providers are faring. This information is important for policy discussions within the State as well as those taking place at the national level. Key deliverables include a policy-oriented report, a Washington, DC-based briefing and a peer-reviewed journal article. The initial data will be released in fall 2009. An additional deliverable will be a public use data set for inclusion in the Blue Cross Blue Shield's Foundation's Health and Medical Care Archive.
