Establishing a National Public Health Accrediting Organization (Phase 3)

This is the third award to support development of the infrastructure and program components of the Public Health Accreditation Board (PHAB). PHAB will administer the national voluntary accreditation program for local and state public health departments. The deliverables will include: (1) public vetting of draft local and state agency standards and measures; (2) evaluation of public comments and modification of draft standards; (3) completion of draft assessment process for accreditation; (4) preparation and launch of a beta test in approximately 30 local and state public health departments; (5) completion of recommendations by the Fees and Incentives Workgroup; (6) completion of an information management strategy and plan; (7) development of a communications plan; and (7) development of organizational capacity that meets Foundation criteria.
