This grant funds the addition of several health care questions to the University of Michigan's monthly Surveys of Consumers over the course of a year. The Surveys of Consumers track consumer attitudes and expectations, most notably the widely used economic indicator of consumer confidence. The project is designed to allow the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation to track health care consumer confidence monthly at a time when health care insecurity is high and the nation is in the midst of a debate on health care reform. The Foundation's Communications staff and coverage communications firms will disseminate the surveys' findings each month to media outlets, demonstrating the urgent need for policymakers to implement significant reform.
