This project contributes to the CDC Foundation's Emergency Preparedness and Response Fund, to be held in trust for future national public health emergencies. When activated, this fund will provide flexible, immediate resources for Centers for Disease Control and Prevention experts in the field and state and local health agencies working on the front lines. Deliverables include managing and distributing resources to CDC and state and local health agencies during public health emergencies and preparing narrative and financial reports on where and how the CDC Foundation used Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF) funds. In September, RWJF awarded $750,000 to the CDC Foundation for requests from state and local health officials in the wake of Hurricane Gustav and subsequent disasters.
