The Foundation's program, Convergence Partnership for Healthy Eating and Active Living, was designed to unite funding partners in a collaborative effort to accelerate and support policy and environmental changes that focus on improving the health of people and places.This five-year grant to the Tides Foundation will support the Healthy Eating Active Living Convergence Partnership (HEALCP) through convergence activities that will work on environmental and policy change at up to 25 geographically distinct and dispersed regions across the country and encourage communication and linkages between involved communities and regions. The project aims to develop relationships with regional grantees and funders, develop resources for virtual networking and provide mentoring and communication strategies to regional conveners, among other activities.Its ultimate goal is to have new funders engaged at multiple levels across the country and new partners involved in vibrant regional collaborations on healthy eating and active living that will help reverse the country's obesity epidemic. The Tides Foundation will be the primary grantee and fiscal agent. PolicyLink will be the primary consulting resource.
