This project supports a series of online idea competitions co-sponsored with Changemakers, an online community of social entrepreneurs who compete and collaborate to develop innovative solutions to entrenched social and health problems. This project supports six new competitions to help the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF) identify innovative ideas for tackling complex health and health care problems. The Changemakers' competition model allows RWJF to surface a variety of diverse ideas more quickly and transparently than is possible with conventional grant solicitation approaches. Deliverables include: (1) three Changemakers-managed collaborative competitions; (2) three Changemakers-powered turnkey competitions; (3) the use of mosaics, which provide an intellectual framework for the competitions; (4) the use of Changemakers' new "People" section, to support the growth of online communities that can live on during and after the competitions; (5) enhanced competition platforms and shared databases; and (6) Change Summits, to explore ideas sparked by the competitions.
