The Sixth National Conference on Quality Health Care for Culturally Diverse Populations is considered to be among the preeminent national conferences on quality health care for diverse populations. The theme of this year's conference, to be held September 21-24, 2008, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, is Partnerships for the Future: Supporting Practitioners and Advancing the Field Through Innovation, Policy and Research. Support from the Foundation will continue the successful collaboration of foundations, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, private corporations, and health care associations in designing, organizing and conducting the conference. The conference is a unique venue for convening health professionals, policy makers, and advocates to discuss programs and policies targeted to racially and ethnically diverse communities, as well as to present cutting edge innovations intended to improve their health. The conference will focus on three main objectives: (1) addressing the needs and concerns that affect day-to-day practice at the clinical, organizational and community level; (2) continuing the integration of cultural competence/disparity reduction into mainstream health care priorities; and (3) developing a vision for advancing the field.
