The purpose of this project to test the hypothesis that baseline neuropsychiatric symptoms (e.g. depression, apathy) are associated with increased risk of progressing from normal cognitive aging to incident MCI in elderly individuals residing in Olmsted County, Minnesota, and to conduct a pilot study in order to establish a neuropsychiatric research program among African-Americans in downtown Jacksonville, Florida.
