This project will evaluate the Oregon Consortium for Nursing Education's transformation of nursing education in the State of Oregon to address the shortage of nursing faculty. The consortium's strategy is to increase the number of potential doctoral students by first boosting the number achieving baccalaureate degrees. The deliverables, all aimed at sharing best practices with the many states interested in a similar change, are: (1) a Web-ready monograph that summarizes the lessons learned so the changes can be replicated; (2) a data system for continued post-funding follow-up; (3) journal articles on process and outcomes; and (4) direct presentations to interested state planning groups.
