Achieving advances in performance measurement and public reporting using a shared partnership of responsibility framing

This grant provides support for the 14 communities participating in the Foundation's Quality/Equality Team's Aligning Forces for Quality program to expand upon their current communications activities. Effective communications is a key component of Aligning Forces, and the communities currently receive communications support through the Foundation and its communications vendors as part of their participation in the program. This funding will provide the communities with the opportunity to bolster communications activities not currently supported by the Aligning Forces grant, such as strategies to improve stakeholder outreach, editorial services, design/printing, media outreach, online support, and coalition building. The activities or staffing covered by this grant will advance the program goals, and will enhance the communities' ability to meet at least one of the following strategic categories: (1) achieve substantial advances in performance measurement and public reporting; (2) engage consumers to take action based on the information they receive; and (3) make progress toward a sustainable infrastructure to help providers improve the quality of care they provide. There will be two opportunities for communities to apply for this communications funding.
