Assessing cost and adequacy of insurance coverage for small business owners operating farms and ranches in seven Great Plains states
This project will analyze a 2007 household survey of 2,000 noncorporate farmers and ranchers in seven Great Plains states to examine the adequacy of their health insurance, most of which is non-group coverage. Non-group insurance is often more expensive and provides fewer benefits than employer-sponsored insurance. The deliverables include at least six policy briefs and at least two scholarly articles in peer-reviewed journals.
