Harold Amos Medical Faculty Development Program - Alicia I. Arbaje, M.D., M.P.H.

The Foundation's Harold Amos Medical Faculty Development Program was designed to provide four-year postdoctoral research awards offered to historically disadvantaged physicians who are committed to developing careers in academic medicine, to improving the health of underserved populations, and to furthering the understanding and elimination of health disparities.The investigator hypothesizes that hospital organizational characteristics affect the likelihood of early readmission, and that inpatient and outpatient providers differ in their perspectives of what constitutes successful care transitions for vulnerable older adults and what quality measures are applicable to the care transitions process. The long-term goal of this research is to guide the design of interventions and evaluation metrics to improve transitional care for vulnerable older adults. The awardee is Alicia Arbaje, M.D., M.P.H., at Johns Hopkins University.
