This grant provides additional funding to accommodate regional interviews (reverse site visits) and provide meeting and travel planning support for up to 36 grant applicants for the program, New Routes to Community Health. New Routes supports partnerships among immigrant organizations, media production centers, and established community institutions to foster collaborations to improve immigrants' health, work life, and civic participation. The grantee selection process has been reconfigured to accommodate six days of regional interviews in 3 locations for up to 36 applicants, 12 advisors, and 6 New Routes National Program Office staff members. The grant funds will cover travel expenses for three regional interviews in San Francisco, Chicago, and Washington, D.C., for New Routes finalists; increase the number of National Advisory Council (NAC) members from 8 to 12; increase the honoraria for the NAC to accommodate additional hours required for the interviews; and hire a conference planning consultant for 6 months to assist with planning 4 meetings and a national conference.
