Hosting a roundtable on navigating the intersections of electronic health records and personal health records
Kaiser Permanente's Institute for Health Policy will host a roundtable to explore the relationship between consumer-centric personal health records and provider-based electronic health record systems, and to guide both organizational and public policies that promote interconnectivity between personal health records and electronic health records. This grant provides partial support for the event. The roundtable, which will bring together approximately 30 experts, will focus on the potential of personal health record systems to enable transformative change in health and health care. The roundtable discussion provides an opportunity for RWJF and the Project HealthDesign national program office to contribute to the discussion of the role of personal health record systems in creating opportunities to transform health care. Deliverables for the project include a background paper, prepared in advance of the meeting, the meeting itself and a revised version of the background paper which would be submitted for journal publication.
