Conference on the consequences of uninsurance and the health policy challenges of covering uninsured Hispanics

The purpose of this project is to organize and convene a conference at the University of Texas-Pan American (UTPA) on the health policy challenges of covering the uninsured Hispanic population in the United States. The main goal of the conference is to assess how the Hispanic population would benefit from alternative proposals that seek to cover the uninsured population. About one-third of the nonelderly Hispanic population is uninsured. The main deliverable is the conference which will provide national exposure to the challenges of covering uninsured Hispanics and will allow representatives from different groups, from health policy researchers to policy leaders, to discuss this issue. The Raul Yzaguirre Policy Institute at UTPA will publish the conference proceedings.
