A prominent Foundation strategic objective is to learn about and disseminate information on addiction treatment practices that are known to be evidence based. In December 2004, the Foundation funded a workshop during which state and federal experts in addiction identified five categories of practice that are supported by evidence. The purpose of this project is to build upon efforts from that workshop by subjecting those five categories of practices to the National Quality Forum Consensus Development Process. It is hoped that this list of practices will receive final endorsement from the National Quality Forum and will be presented in a final written report. It is expected that this project will gather information that will be helpful in addressing several Addiction Prevention and Treatment indicators and guiding the Foundation's program strategy.
