The David E. Rogers Award honors the contributions of the past Foundation President to medicine by making an annual award to a member of a medical school faculty who has made major contributions to improving the health and health care needs of people in the U.S. The Award was established in 1995 and has honored 10 outstanding academic physicians. The purpose of this collaborative project is to renew the Award for another decade. The Award consists of a $10,000 prize and a crystal pin, which are awarded at the Association of American Medical College's Annual Meeting. This award helps to highlight the important values and contributions embodied in David Rogers' career, and rewards individuals for similar values and contributions to health and health care. Thus, the Award furthers the goals of the Foundation and the Foundation's Human Capital program strategies.. The Award will be continued by the Foundation as long as it continues to recognize outstanding medical faculty.
