This grant supports an evaluation of Coro Southern California's Health Leadership Program which provides a leadership development experience for a multi-cultural, professionally diverse group of individuals who are dedicated to improving opportunities for Los Angeles' medically underserved communities. Applying Coro's training strategy to address leadership needs in health and healthcare, the Health Leadership Program will equip its participants with the practical skills, knowledge, and relationships necessary to assume leadership roles in delivering health and healthcare in southern California. Support for the program is provided by the California Endowment. This project's qualitative evaluation will focus on the learning experience, and will report on differences in job responsibilities of participants after participating in the Coro program. The project will be considered successful if the evaluation provides sufficient information to determine whether this leadership program is replicable in other Coro sites in New York, Pittsburgh, Saint Louis, and San Francisco and if this information can be used to help inform the Foundation staff's future strategy on leadership.
