Research on improving health care performance measurement and reporting

The Foundation's Investigator Awards in Health Policy Research Program was designed to produce major works from senior and new investigators that would add to the health policy field's knowledge base. As interest in public reporting of provider performance and pay for performance continues to grow, conflicts among various stakeholders will grow. This project, in partnership with several stakeholder organizations, will look at issues such as choosing performance measures to use, how to grade performance, and how these programs can be implemented in the safety net situations.
