Obesity is more common among low-income families with children than higher-income families with children. This grant provides support for a white paper on providing a better understanding of the unique relationships among poverty, hunger, and food insecurity, as well as the potential role of federal food nutrition programs in reducing both hunger and obesity. The project deliverable will be a 20- to 30-page white paper with references and summary tables. This project will be considered successful if a white paper can be published and widely disseminated to key researchers, policy experts, and nutrition advocacy groups.
